01 2.0Hdi Cutting out on full trottle - b1209h
Hi

I have recently bought Citroen Dispatch 2.0HDI 8v on a Y reg with a cutting out problem. It has done 180k on the clock.

It only cuts out on full trottle but if you drive it slowly it is ok.

Firstly i had diagnostics done, it showed common rail problem P1112. I then changed the fuel pressure sensor. Still cutting out on full trottle.

Then as follows changed and still the same problem :

a - pump in the tank
b - hp pump changed
c - injectors reconditioned
d- wiring loom changed
e - alternator reconditioned
f - trottle sensor changed
g - fuel filter housing changed
h - ECU checked, was ok
i - Cam sensor and crank sensor changed
j - Cam pulley replaced
k - emissions checked and ok
l - used injector cleaners, made no difference
m - air flow meter changed

Can anyone shed some light on this, after changing all these the van is still cutting out.
You can either email me on b1209h@yahoo.co.uk or on this post.

Thanks

Baz

I have similar problem on my C8 2.2 HDi 2003.

Have you checked pressure regulator (or fuel sensor) ?

This one sounds a complete pig!

A few questions to get a better understanding of the problem

Is there a particular rpm that causes the problem or as soon as the pedal hits the floor?

How easy is it to restart once it has cut out?

Does it go into limp mode first, then die completely?

Regards

Ian

No it does not go into limp ...just cut off.

Hmm cannot say how often 'cause it occures in different intervals.

I manage to drive 30km with no more than 2000 rpm and 60km/h.

But i figured out if you constantly drive over 3000 rpm for at least 1-2min it cut off for sure.

Hope this help!

Brgds,

btw: on computer i am getting P1112 error. Something with fuel high pressure (possible leak)

I changed already fuel filter and bosch fuel regulator on HP pump. But the problem is still there :(

On the HP pump there is a valve that controls the third piston, this piston is disabled when power exceeds 2/3 presumably to reduce the fuel pressure and loading on the pump. One side of the valve is fed via fuse 25 in the engine bay, the other side is switched low by the ECU to disable it.

I think this is worthy of some investigation as it does seem to fit your symtoms.

sounds like a weird one cant belive its had so many parts, sounds like a deffinate fuel problem engine will cut out with either too low fuel preassure or too high fuel preassure ,is your scanner capable of reading fuel preasure, like some one has said the 3rd piston actually comes in at high revs boosting fuel presure for demand so at idle u would exspect 300 bar and as u rev engine it should increase too 700bar if u could read this then we could see what was going on, and i could advise futher !
