When the engine was stalled was it driver error or did the car just lurch and stop as you pulled away?

Is the timing belt still intact? Do the dash lights follow the correct sequence?

chain on these, and the pumps are abit prone to fail on these but needs more checking to confirm when you say fuel is evident is it just dribbling out or is it squirting out with some force ?

This does not have timing belt, have checked fault codes nothing logged.

Have exactly the same problem, car broke down christmas day, carried out the same tests, no diagnostic faults. Is there a fuel pump edu/ecu for this model? Is known to be a problem on the 1.7 diesel model.
