I have a 55 plate Tdci tourneo with all the toys, AC, heated seats, heated front and rear screens, etc.

my query is what voltage should i have?

at engine off i have 11.8 volts
running at 1500 rpm i have 14.8 volts
with everything on i have 14.08 volts

any ideas?

11.8 is low with everything off a charged battery if 12.6 V. 14.8 is a bit hifh and suspect the internal resistance of the battery is a bit high due to it's age. What made you measure these voltages and what problems do you have. At 11.8 volts I suspect by morning it is cranking over slowly as it is a TDci and needs some seriuos amps to crank it. its not the 11.8v that worries me, a 12v battery without the engine running isnt 12v anyway (from what i can remember from my apprenticeship anyway)

the only info i can find on newer setups says 14.5v when running/charging
