My 307 HDI 2.0 90 has an Anti-Pollution fault on screen but not always, it won't start sometimes and runs but kangeroos down the road and cuts out. Looking at the clear fuel pipe after the filter it runs with a lot of air in the pipe. If I pump the primer bulb it clears the air but as soon as I stop it comes back

Any ideas on probable cause? Would the air cause the anti-pollution fault?
