I have a problem with my Ford Focus 2.0 Tdci which I can't get resolved. Two main things happen intermittently:
1. Sometimes when slowing to a stop the engine clearly hasn't stalled but there are absolutely no revs. The gas pedal just feels like a sponge. This also happens sometimes when the engine is turned on after refuelling.
2. Sometimes when driving along (either cruising or accelerating) all revs vanish and the engine brakes slowing the car rapidly, almost like emergency braking. This can be quite disconcerting and dangerous particularly when there is a vehicle close behind. It seems to happen for no apparent reason. This is then followed by a period when the car drives roughly for a while. It then settles back to normal.
The Main Dealer has checked out management sytems etc. and is baffled.
Anybody any ideas.
