Hi there

Looking for some help. My grandad bought a 607 about a month ago he already has 1 and the new 1 hasnt got the power of his old car. The turbo seems to come in at around 3000 rpm where as the other is progresive from a lower range. We have had the car on diognostics and it came up turbo preasure sensor so we changed it out. Still no joy. We then stripped the car down and adusted the waste gate on the turbo ( the car had a new turbo fitted by pug in france and the gate was at it lowest point so we adusted it by about 10 mm to the line on the threads where we could see it had been previously) We ran the car and the inter cooler pipe preasurised so we thought we had cured it. However the next day same problem. We have changed all the vacume sensors on the back wall of the engine bay. Checked the fuel filter. And the pipe still isnt preasurising at a lower range. The turbo is working you just have to drive the car at high revs to feel it coming in. When we first disconected the lower inter cooler pipe (black plastic pipe) there was oil in it. Any help would be good as we are completely lost as what to do next. The car has had a lot of work done in france if it helps i can get a list of the work done.

What was the exact code number that you found?

Why was the turbo changed?

Have you checked the EGR valve isn't stuck open?

Have you checked for any pressure leaks in the piping or cooler.

Are the air-flow readings agreeing with the target values?

Hi Screwloose

Sorry its taken a while to reply i have been decorating and my pc has been in a box. We have checked as best as we can for leaks and havent found any thing. We are yet to check th erg valve but should probably be checking it at the weekend. At the moment i am not sure of the exact code just that it was turbo rpeasue sensor but i will try and find out. I am not sure how to check the air flow readings? would this need to be done by Pug? The turbo was changed by the previous owener. the only reason i can think for it being changed is that may be they had the same problem and tried to sort it.

I have 2003 607 2.2 hdi and it has the same type of problem. On this car EGR valve, turbo solenoid valve and fuel pump has been changed. My engine management light came on and the car switched off by itself. When the light comes on the car turns into limp mode, when I drive on 70mph the light turns on and the car loses all power. Please advise me on what I have to do to fix this problem

hi there did you have any luck sorting out the 607 turbo problem. i know it was a while ago you posted the problem. my 607 is at the same carry on thought you might be able to help.

Sorry for late reply, I`m still having the problem with my 607, change Solnoid valve, EGR valve, Air Flow Meter.But still losing pressure on motorway and as soon as I go up the hill...... Had enough. thinking to put this car into the bin. Unless any one knows what to do to pix the problem? Tnx
