Hello
Can some one tell the correct size of battery for my 2002 focus 1.8 tdci. I was sold a 62Ah battery but I suspect that might be a bit on the small side.

Amp/hrs relate purely to the battery's storage capacity; what matters is the CCA rating.
[Cold Cranking Amps - a very specific test of the ability of the battery to perform. Usually expressed by the SAE test as it gives higher figures than the DIN one.]
A CCA [SAE] of about 600 should do the job on a diesel Focus.

No sign of a cca rating on the battery just 62Ah 510A (en) I did find the banner battery website my new battery is a P6205 and they reccomend a P7405 74Ah 700 (en) so I guess I've been sold the wrong one.

The 510 and 700 are the CCA figures; they use the EN test method.
Take it back and get it swapped.
