2000 1.9 Glow Plug light does not go out - Bigtone
Hi
The glow plug light on my Octavia 110bhp Tdi sometimes does not go out as it should when ignition is switched ,engine starts fine and when started light goes out but idle speed sits at about 1200rpm. Local garage ran diag and no faults reported but say it may be ECU fault which could need replacing. Has anyone had similar fault
Thanks

As a general rule; if any garage says that they aren't sure what it is, but it's probably the ECU - run!

If they'd checked the live-data properly, they may have noticed the coolant temp sensor wasn't reading correctly.

Screwloose, Thanks for reply, The coolant gauge has been reading a bit erratic of late which i believe to be the coolent gauge temp sensor, not sure if this could be the problem as i thought coolant gauge sensor and coolent temp sensor are two different components?
Or are the the same?
