I am finding the site very slow today, I have been out of touch for a couple of weeks. Holiday, I refuse to take a laptop, and only just tolerate a basic mobile. Is this a recent problem? Its PFD cold here, I even saw sleet on the high parts of the M6 last night while driving home from the airport.

Problems here too. Takes ages to load - bottom bar scrolls through hundreds of titles (I can just make out "adserve" and/or " doubleclick" as they speed through).
Same here KB, running Firefox on Linux, intermittently getting the same problem. Refreshing the page a couple of times seems to sort it -- looks like a script somewhere is caught in a loop.
No probs on my Firefox/Vista combo.
I run Safari browser on Mac OS< and use SafariBlock to block troublesome domains, I have no problems while this blocker is activated, but if I tuen it off the pages load very slowly. In the Develop menu, I can see a network timeline graph and it seems to be the adverts which ate taking up to 20secs to load.

Forum seems fine now thismorning, thanks for the fix; i possibly need to get out more, was getting withdrawl symptoms without my HJ visit.;)
Appart from those darned popups for target which are now showing as "server too busy" (appropriately!) - and I've tried the previous fixes and all I did was lock myself out! When they originally started appearing I used to get one and then it'd stop which was fine, I could live with that - HJ why did they change it so one is produced every time you try to open a new thread?!!!!!
i am having the same problem i now have 6 pages up saying server to busy,i'm giving up can't stand this every time i look at another thread.try again another day.
I'm still in the dark age - W98 and IE6 - but forum seems back to normal today. It's certainly much better for me since the popups switched to Dell from the previous ones (can't even be sure what they were for). They used to regularly freeze my PC after a few minutes - it got so bad I didn't even log in for months on end .. :-((
"Those darned popups" are sending my poor PC haywire right now, my taskbar at the bottom is completely full of 'em and I'm giving up trying to use this forum at home. My PC at work can 'just' handle it but I spend more time closing unwanted windows than reading any threads, and I only get an hour for lunch! I need my daily HJ fix too!
If I want to buy a Dell laptop, they will be the first to know! Can the provider of this mayhem not be traced and told to leave it out? I know this site is funded by the ads but preventing use of the site at all is surely a non-starter???

Having quelled the riot of pop-ups by blocking all in the IE blocker settings, I'm now getting this script error warning coming up after just a few clicks - and the browser then tends to hang completely. I've just switched to Opera to post this, seems to work OK; trouble is, I prefer to log on with a desktop shortcut, which only works with IE...
Users' experiences seem to be varying, but there's surely something to be sorted out here.
With a combination of FireFox 2.0..17, flashblock and adblock, I have had no problems at all recently...
I'll keep schtum in future, its gone pear shaped again, hopefully the experts will sort it tomorrow.
Comes and goes for me. Started misbehaving yesterday. Sometimes fine then just sort of sulks for a while.
have been having trouble since friday on both IE7 & Firefox !
Firefox 3.x or IE7 it is adware type info that is clogging the system.
This is painful; I've taken over an hour to answer only the first three questions on Technical.
The people who run this site need to get their fingers out and fix things fast. If the people like Screwloose, and many others who provide valuable information get fed up and go elsewhere I suspect many will follow them.
