Whatever did we do before brake lights were invented? We just didn't get too close to the vehicle in front, that's what we did. I don't remember that not having brake lights was a significant problem.

It probably wasn't but these are loons who are braking as hard as thay can, in front of you, with the aim of causing an accident

I would be surprised if anyone on here is old enough to remember motoring before cars had brake lights fitted.

My father's motorbike hasn't got a brake light, or indicators either. Can be very disconcerting to follow!

I am old enough to recall a few cars without stop-lights, but the brakes on those would have been nowhere as good as today's.
