02 DCi - No revs sometimes when starting. - littledickybird
I had to be towed away today as my car started and then just died on me after 1-2 seconds. I tried it repeatedly for about 1 hour 15 mins until the AA arrived and towed me away.
I have read numerous other storied like mine...... is there a solution and is it something linked to the fuel intake???
I am n mechanic it just seems to be when it is cold or stood for a while in traffic/

Please help somebody

My wife's clio 1.5dci 2002 has started doing something similar. Doesn't stall but has big power loss. Start the engine then it idles OK but has no power to even rev the engine let alone pull away. Seems intermittent and has happened twice so far. The poor power is indicative of blocked exhaust or catalytic converter but you wouldn't expect this to be intermittent!

Not sure what to do at the moment. It's only happened twice but I don't want it breaking down on the missus. Might try taking the cat off at some stage soon.

I'd start by looking for air in the pipes.
