04 1.8 ventilation - blower control - ja9
I put my car in for a service and to fix a water leak into the passenger footwell. When I got the car back the blower switch now only works when turned to position 4. It was working fine before I put it into the garage, I always have the air con turned on at least in position 1. Any idea what could have happened? Could it be related to the water leak in some way? They did replace the pollen filter as the water had got into it. I have the manual aircon system not automatic temperature control one.

Very likely to be the fan speed resistor. It is located behind the glovebox in the air ducting. It is possible that water has affected it but they are cheap to replace.the part costs around £10 and takes less than 20mins to fit.hth
