Hi
Have recently had problems with my MG ZS (diesel) in that the battery had been running down due to incorrectly connected accessories, fixed by an auto electrician. Now back on the road with a new battery but I now have a duff speedo. The needle doesn't move and the odometer and trip recorder stay on the current mileage. All other instruments appear to be working fine. Any ideas? Could it be something the auto electrician has disturbed?

Does it have its standard radio or was that the accesory that was incorrectly wired? My guess its the radio & the speed sensor wire has been earthed. the radio is wired to the speedo so as the car gets faster the radio gets louder. Get the radio wiring checked.

Hi Doc
There was a DVD player wired in behind the radio (not standard). This was the wiring that was draining the battery. I have heard that it might be something to do with the speedo wire getting caught up with other wires behind the radio.
