Hello all,
I was wondering if there are any Modus owners out there - I have my driving test on Friday - however, for the life of me I can't find the brake fluid reservior in the engine... and it's a tiny engine.
"Open the bonnet, identify where the brake fluid reservoir is and tell me how you would check that you have a safe level of hydraulic brake fluid. "
Does anyone know.
Thx

"the brake fluid reservior in the engine"
Don't know the Modus - but it won't be "in the engine" - it will be "in the engine compartment", probably attached to the bulkhead or left (as you look at it) of the compartment - a small opaqueish containing red (?) fluid white plastic container with a small (1 inch??) plastic top - often red?
Don't confuse with washer fluid container!!
Have you looked in your handbook for guidance???????

Thanks Phil I'll check that out.
I did look around the internet and did infact consult the handbook and all the documentation that came with it, but it wasn't mentioned.
The windscreen wash though... obviously

Thanks Phil, it was indeed to the left of the compartment, small opaque with red fluid.
I'm honestly not a mug - the mudos' bonnet, when opened gives you a view of the engine no bigger than 1m x 30cm - the brake fluid is right underneath - you need to squat right down to see it and slide your hand deep inside the closed off section to unscrew it - by the looks of it, if and when it needs topped up, you need to allan key off the black vents off (below wipers) to be able to pour the fluid in.

"I'm honestly not a mug "
I hope I didn't imply you were!
Some things are not too obvious these days - I tried to start a new Freelander today - was given a plastic "key fob thing" which took me a couple of minutes to realise did not contain a hidden key (like Discos do). Got in and could't find where to put the thing. Turns out the slot is well hidden under a little ledge hidden behind the steering wheel - I was most embarrassed having to ask the salesman how to start the damn thing!
Secondary point - why have cars gone back to inserting a key and pressing a button to start the engine (and vice-versa to stop it) when the last car I had that I had to do this on was a 1949 Sunbeam Talbot?? (And a mate's Mini I think)
Oh, and (while having a rant!!!) why does the latest Freelander have this "key and Start/Stop button" while the latest Disco has the good old "insert key and turn to start" method??
What are the advantages/disadvantages?

what you need to do is hide out of sight till your driving tester appears then walk really fast up to him puffing and panting and say
'sorry i was nearly late my psychiatrist kept me longer then expected we're working on my psychopathic tendancies whenever someone tells me im wrong....ok shall we do this'
hey presto the brake fluid resevoir is anywhere you want it to be
