Today I used my last dry cleaners wire coat hanger. I used it to make a paint stir paddle, and in doing so, I looked at it's modern replacement, a plastic jobby.
Those wire hangers, an instant and everlasting repair for the vandalised radio antenna, had other endless uses but I must admit I could not think of anything for the plastic one.
What have you done with wire hangers and can anyone think of another use for the plastic ones, other than supporting clothes?

wire hangers - unwind into one straight length and then perfect for clearing out the plenum drain holes on my car (motoring connection); also good for feeding car ICE and aerial wiring through bulkheads and panels.
Plastic - never found an alternative use for them. motoring or other.

ps my dry cleaners still use wire hangers - thank goodness!

Plastic are better back-scratchers than wire!

Unlocking mother-in-laws Viva to retrieve keys!
Edit: Sorry just re-read OP. Plastic coat hangers and Vivas are probably mutually incompatible.

I actuall prefer the plastic ones for this, they're easier to hold with painty hands!

Wire ones straightened out, with hook left on one end and loop made on t'other are used here to hang bird-feeders from trees and so on, or as a useful hook to help close the kitchen window 'cos I cannot reach it. Straightened out they can help unblock a sink or with a small hook remove hair from the plughole. Cannot think of anything else, but I have a stash 'just in case'.

I usually take the last set of hangers (still wire here too) back to the cleaners with the next lot of dirties. No idea if they actually re-use them but I hope they do.

I have used a wire coathanger to support the two halves of a exhaust system.
Plastic jobs - Useful in a garage to hang paint rollers on.

Wire coathanger is perfect for holding up a ball cock when you need to sort out a cistern.

One of my firsts posts on here was to answer a query regarding what do you use to clean drain holes etc., on sun roofs.
I mentioned then that I had replaced the trusty wire coat hanger with the thickest strimmer cord (5mm I think) for this as well as when routing new cables through bulk heads etc.
Not as strong as a wire coathanger but works just as well and is more flexible so it can and will go around bends without going through delicate rubber tubing and puncturing it!

How about for putting a coat on it or a jacket?

That would be an alternative use for me because I normally through my clothes by the side of the bed :-0
