Always thought the ventilation on the Focus is poor, so I tend to run with the driver's side window open an inch or two.
What would fitting a clip-on wind deflector do - cut noise and draughts?
If they are any good, any recommendations as to which make and where to buy from?
Thanks.

Surely someone uses them? I'd be interested as well!!

Most cars have air con these days so maybe the deflectors have gone out of favour.

There are plenty on Ebay starting from around £20. The noise level is likely to increase because they are usually fitted with little clips which means that the window will not close as tight as before. An alternative is to use double sided tape which will avoid this.
This is how they look on my car (if I had them) forum.qashqaiclub.co.uk/forum_posts.asp?TID=1058

The Heko ones seem to be recommended for Qashqais and are cheap at around £20.
Climair also do them albeit about four times as expensive.

er....my Roomster has them, my defence being that they were fitted by the dealer (the car was a month old pre-reg/demo) apart from feeling that they are slightly naff - they do actually eliminate buffeting when a front and back door window is open - my window varies between open and shut and I believe that they make a positive difference.

That's ok then, as the Roomster is also slightly naff ;-)
Seriously I have some on my Shogun (no aircon) and wouldn't be without them!

I've got Climairs on my Defender. Seem to work and and were pretty easy to fit, even if the instructions were a bit worrying!
I don't have air-con. A expensive option on these.

wemyss started a thread on ?Climair wind deflectors? on 6th January this year. As I said then, in as many words, you are exchanging one problem for another. Namely, the increase in apparent thickness of the door pillars which, at least for me, made that blind spot worse on my side of the car and blotted out a third of the door mirror on the passenger?s side. Quite frankly, I wouldn?t bother.

Sorry that your whole post has been repeated. I tried to copy and paste only the first sentence but it seems that the whole thing will appear.
You say that your Focus ventilation is poor. I don't have a Focus but a Mondeo which presumably has a similar system of ventilation. Are you aware that you must have the fan running to get any air flowing through the cabin. There appears to be no 'ram' effect in the current Ford range. Having said that I find the ventilation in the Mondeo to be pretty good.

Ah! well. None of your original post was repeated but I'm sure you know what I'm on about.

I have them fitted to my focus, being a smoker I find them great(esp if it's raining)
|
Does it stop that horrendous vibrating noise that occurs on Focuses with the windows down ?

....Are you aware that you must have the fan running to get any air flowing through the cabin...
Yep, run with the fan on setting one, still reckon the car can be 'stuffy' inside, although I realise that is a subjective impression.
Seems worse when you need a bit of heat.
Appreciate the other replies, especially the one that mentions obscuring part of the n/side door mirror/increasing the blindspot around the pillars.
That may well kill the idea for me as I'm a stickler for visibility.
I think deflectors can look good - saw a Jag X-type with deflectors on all four doors - they were all lined up properly and looked as good as a factory fitting.
Added to the appearance of the car, in my view.
