when i turn on the air con in the car it blows the fuse . when i disconnect the compressor it doesnt blow. Is the compressor blown.

No, just the clutch coil.

Dave's right; though it might be an idea to see if the clutch is lying on the undershield - they're a little prone to falling off.....

is the clutch coil on the end of the shaft out of the compressor and does the fan belt run round it. Cheers for your help
