Before developing their Genesis model, Hyundai did some market research on USA and concluded that when people buy "prestige" cars, they pay over $15,000 just for the badge on bonnet!

I read many fishing magazines and you often get such (fishing related of course!) published. In return you usually get a 'little something' in return from the magazine for your efforts.

Ode to Bangernomics
Aye, my car's a shed,
Money's under mattress on my bed
So thick now, may have to unload.
Five years and ten it's been on the road.
I'll let others pay the price
Of shiny cars, new and nice,
And drive my aged wheels
While others do the deals.
It may have some dents
Be rusty and not worth many cents
But it starts and stops
And runs on chip pan slops.
Posh badges to me, mean nothing,
And I don't crave the posing
That others seem to need
While their bank accounts bleed.
So my banger still chugs along,
But will surely not last too long.
A hundred notes will buy another
To keep me going for years....no bother!

Hondas aren't bad,
A couple I've had,
But sad in a way,
I now have less pay.
So sheds are my thing,
No need to pawn ring,
My pension's too short,
To run cars badged Sport.
I still have my fun,
With cars that just run.
I park with no care,
As bumps aren't so rare.
So with body that's rusty,
And paint that's quite dusty.
I drive my old Ford Pop,
'til one day it will stop.
