Hi Guys

Got a Pug 306 1.4 Meridian,

Something strange is happening with the air con??

After a while it switches itself on!!!!!! The AC green light comes on the dash.

It has happened once or twice before in the past, but this morning it happened 5 or 6 times within the 1st mile of my journey. Within 10 seconds of me turning it off it would switch itself back on

Thanks for looking any ideas

Sorry, my mistake - the original title had run out of space and when I edited it, I wrongly typed 'off' instead of 'on' . Now corrected.

Thanks for that mate,

Not sure if this makes any sense or not,

It kept switching itself on until i turned the heater control from blue on the heater dial to red (ie it was on 100% cold / blue then turned it to 100% hot /red) and since i have done this it has not happened again?????


Does this still sound like a really???? or is it just a coincidence????

It is possible that selecting demist position on the distribution dial automatically engages the a/c cycle.hth

i think its because its climate control, mine does it even when its not on auto it comes on when its hot and when i put the controls to the windscreen position. hope this helps.

Could be that the fan speed knob had been set anti clockwise and when you do that fully it will try and reach the temperature you have set on the red and blue (temperature) knob. So if it was in the blue, it needs the aircon on to reach that cold temperature
