Can anyone tell me how to switch off the immobiliser as it is constantly on - hence car will not start! Thank you.

Hoping that you have the scorpion type alarm/immobilser fitted, if so, somewhere among your keys should be a small key with a small cylinder shaped end with various cut outs, sort of like a tiny pastry cutter.
If you locate the alarm box there will be a rubber grommet on the side, remove grommet, insert key and turn through 90', it only has 2 positions, on and off.
Hopefully that will sort it out, if not maybe a visit to one of the MB specialist forums for far better knowledge.
These can play up if the battery has got very low, might need to disconnect and reconnect the car battery, obviously to be avoided if at all possible.

Does your car have the red and green flashing lights on the rear view mirror?If so,then the first thing to do is replace the batteries in the key fob.
