Hello I was wondering if anyone can help me please....I own a 2000 3.0 v6 24v espace,
I have just purchased a second hand cassette deck and surround which is genuine renault and fits into the glove box. I was wondering if anyone had any idea where the wiring loom is located for this (as top spec model I assuming there is one there allready?) I know the radio is under the drivers seat.
Any help would be really appreciated.
Thank You.

Tricky isn't it?
They seem to have designed the audio system as if they believe it's the ultimate superbo system & no one would ever want to modify it :-)
I'd like to add a socket for an MP3 player as I found that the 6-CD unit plays only ordinary audio CDs.
For what it's worth, when I was looking ar the radio under the drivers seat (I found it impossible to take off the plastic cover over it) I did notice that the radio has an extra empty multi-pin socket on the front of it, which I suspect is where a cassette unit connects into the system, but I have no confirmation of that. There was no spare loom wiring for that socket, so it might instead be a diagnostic/setup socket.
Alternatively you might like to look UNDER the glove box, there is a large plastic shield held by a few small bolts which I understand gives access to a lot of wiring under there.
NB: If you engage the cooling in the glove box, you are likely to get LOTS of condensation on any electronic stuff in the glove box & ruin it.

Thanks for the advice, I found out today they also supply two different connection leads to both the tape deck and the head unit (either 6 or 12 pin) I now have the task of trying to buy somewhere a 12 pin lead...Regards steve.
