hi am getting a howling noise from the oil cooler, its ok when cold but when it gets to normal running temp and at 17000 /20000 rpm i get this noise, i took off the aux belt and run the engine but it was still there ,had all new belts/tensioner fitted + oil & oil filter . it done 84,000 mls. there is no loss of power or smoke , some one said it could be the turbo :( any help pls

Any chance it could just be a boost leak somewhere? The revs you indicate would be where the turbo comes onto boost. Possibly something is expanding when warm, opening up a gap and causing a leak somewhere. A smoke tester would be handy for checking for leaks. If it was more of a high-pitched whining noise then I guess it could be the turbo bearings on their way out.
