96 1.2 cutting out after running out of fuel - oldnotbold
Running like a sewing machine until forgetful daughter runs out of fuel on Weds. Now it's not a good starter, though it does goes eventually, and it often cuts out when idling once hot, and then won't re-start. On re-starting it revs for a few seconds sometimes, though reverts to normal idle after a few seconds.

I've changed the fuel filter so far, and given it a shot of injector cleaner, but they've had no real impact. I'm wary of investigating further.

Your thoughts/ideas, please!

Not sure, but usually there will be a gauze filter over fuel pickup end in tank which may now be strangled with gunk from the tank. Was fuel filter clean when you changed it?
