Hi, does anybody know if its possible to fut a Bocsh fuel pump (from an earlier model) onto a later engine that has a lucas pump on. Will it fit striaght on?
Thanks

Basically yes; but there are a LOT of different versions, immobilizers and ECUs on the 1.9, so it will be a mission. The devil will be in the detail.
It will also need matching injectors and setting-up by a diesel specialist after you've got it running.

Sounds like you are hoping to run it on veg oil? May well be easier to swap it for a Bosch-equipped model rather then go to a lot of effort.

Yeah well actualy wanting to run it on Biodiesel, Ive just knackered my ford tdci running it on 100% bio, only lasted just over 1000miles then copper injector seals went and the hoses and the hand primer were letting air in aswell so am a bit paranoid about using it on aa 306 wioth a lucas pump. Not sure what year they changed from bocsh to lucas?

So, some Bosch, some Lucas. Same with the 306TDs, it seems. TD much nicer to drive.

What Bio-diesel were you using? Sounds as though the solvent was a bit reactive; hoses and other synthetic rubber components don't like some of the "bio-diesel" ingredients.
Most of the serious sundries suppliers, like Wurth, have been selling the, specially lined, bio-diesel fuel hoses for many years - it's an often-overlooked requirement for running bio.
As said; PSA used Bosch or Lucas almost at will. Don't forget that most have a matching ECU [and all the associated pieces] running that pump as well as an in-built immobilizer module.
