Recently bought our 3rd 405TD. The position of the oil sump drain plug differs from the other 2 we had. Could someone tell me what the 13mm size bolt below what I assume is the actual drain plug, is for? Am about to do an oil change and dont want to ruin the sump!

The drain plug will be at the lowest point of the sump. I would have thought yours would have been a 21mm head bolt. Some of the earlier ones had a recessed square or hexagon. Dont know what the other bolt is, unless its been repaired/modified.

My 93 405 TD has a bolt head on the back wall of the sump, i've never touched it, not sure what it's for. The drain plug is on the bottom of the sump, not sure what the other one that you refer to is for, mine hasn't got that one.
