When I fully depress the clutch pedal on my Focus it sometimes comes into contact with the bolt at the bottom of the steering column where it meets the floor.
Is this a common thing?
I only bought the car, which is just nine months old, a few weeks ago.
I'm sure my old Mk1 Focus had a rubber gaiter at the bottom of the column to stop this happening.
As this can potentially affect the steering it seems a bit dangerous.

HI, I think I should make this a bit clearer.

Does anyone know if there should be a rubber gaiter or something at the bottom of the steering column?

I'm a bit worried that the car may have had some kind of major repair before I bought it and this has been left off.
