03 1.6 Sump Nut spanner size - Manwithaplan
Hi

Want to do an oil change on this car. Does anyone know the correct size spanner needed to undo the sump nut? Also to loosen the nut do I need to turn clockwise or anti clockwise?

A fair point...but on my Toyota the nut needs to be turned counter clockwise to loosen it.

I can't be of specific help but I have never ever seen a sump plug yet that has a left hand thread to it.

It's an 8mm square headed key that fits onto a ratchet, on my 2003 Equippe sump. It's sometimes used/labelled as the same as Renault diesel engines and should b available from motor factors for £3-4.

This reminds me of Our Lass assembling a patio table with 4 nuts & bolts. She was ok working from the top but from the bottom she had to ask..........
