No parking on match days - how do I know? - movilogo
I have seen No Parking on match days type sings on areas like Islington, Wembley, Watford etc.

I find signs like "Permit Holders only on match days" very confusing! How do I know whether it is a match day or not?

You could always check the bbc website to see if there is a football/rugby match on if you know you would be going near a particular sportsground. for instance, Huddersfields Leeds Road A62 is one to avoid if there is a home Huddersfield Giants/Town match.

Driving thro' Norwich once,a policeman waved us down and advised us to wait at the side of the road for ten minutes-soon realized why-road was completely blocked from side to side with people as the final whistle went.

In Watford they usually have signs with upcoming match days displayed on most of the major roads around the town.

In the sixties I lived near arsenal stadium in Highbury. On match days, even then, you couldn't get a parker for love or money. The streets are wide up there and people used to park herringbone and down the middle. There will be more residents' cars these days and no spare space at all.
