98 1.8 Unable to start car bought from auction - mcmorineg
Hi all, I have just purchased a non-running Focus 1.8 petrol from auction. I have two key's for the car and although I can omit dash lights with either key, the engine wont turn over.

I can manually excite the starter from bridging the positive bat term over to the ignition wire on the solonoid (sp). With this, the engine turns over. However, fuel does not appear to be comming through. Nor is there a spark on the plugs when I remove them.

So, I have no power getting to the starter from key on full turn. I have no fuel getting through. I have no spark. I'm not a machanic but I seem's to me that the immobiliser is not reading the keys.

Can anyone help?

Kind regards

You could be right, may be a trip to the dealers to reprogramme the keys to the car is required, together with proof of ownership and proof of identity, V5, driving licence etc.

Are you sure it's intact? ECU/fuel pump/relays/fuses.
