99 1.7 Injection Pump re-programme - Jimmons
Does anyone know whether a re-conditioned fuel injection pump for a 1999 Astra TD (gm engine) will need re-programming once fitted? Vauxhall parts guy said he wasn't sure, but possibly due to the injection ecu built into the unit. I didnt think (hoping!) it would need as it has the older engine.

Cheers

Not an easy one to answer without getting shot down; but I'd say no. The main engine ECU is coded; but I don't think the pump ECU is - on that year.

Cheers guys. Just to let you know a new diesel pump for this engine ('99 GM) pump only, no labour, from Vauxhall £2099+VAT!!!! Yes that really is 4 digits and starts with a 2!

That sounds about right; but if you haggle, they'll fit it too for that price.

Re-con units are available from diesel specialists.

Best do as Screwloose says, take it to a diesel specialist, they know what they are doing!
