I read in a daily paper today that Shell fuel station deliverys may be disrupted due to a problem over tanker drivers pay. Talks were continuing but the artical was pretty downcast (shortages etc.) Does anyone know the current state of negotiations?

Negotiations are in progress, that's all we know at the moment. Anyone wanting a job driving a fuel lorry for just under £40,000 pa, apply to Shell for details.

what we read in todays newspapers is not always produced by ajournalist, most political matters are feeds form sources close to Government.
who is really concerned about fuel protesters?
just await the alternative story lines in the next 4-6 weeks

Amazed that Shell still run their own trucks. Thought the entire industry subbed out their fleets in the '80's.

As it happens my ex-father in law was a fuel trucker, was subbied out 7-8 years ago i believe, although his basic then was around half the figure quoted above. We arn't so close now so i could couldn't gauge his present sitation or opinon. And i always take any thing i read (or watch) in the media with a pinch of salt!

Hoyer employs drivers to driver Shell tankers as well as many other fuel & foodstuff companies.

With other outlets available (I use Sainsburys) it should hit the fraudsters (see other posts relating to franchised outlets) harder than the motorists!
