2002 1.8 Misfire ecu/loom - johnboy69
I have a 2002 vectra 1.8 ls that has had a misfire since i bought it, it has had a new coil pack, I have spent several hours trying to find out what the problem is and now i'm at my whits end, upon checking the injection system I have found that there is no pulse to number 4 injector, the ecu looks fairly new, i've tried linking a wire from the start of the plug on the loom but still no pulse, could it be the ecu and if so can i just replace the ecu from a breakers or does it need to be re-programed.

Regards

John

Bought trade or private?

The ECU has the ability to turn off the injector on a misfiring cylinder to protect the cat. Your next step is a code read. Check the coil plug's pins are tight.

ECUs are security coded and new ones are supplied blank; the software has to be uploaded by the dealer.
