Hi all,
I have recently found a fuel leak from the throttle shaft of my Lucas (yeah I know they're bad) diesel fuel injector pump.
The throttle shaft moves up and down slightly if you pull and push it. I am guessing what ever was originally sealing it is not any more, and the idle speed of the engine changes when it is pulled or pushed.
Does anyone know what is used to seal the throttle shaft and is it easy to change and how.
I am a have a go type person (I changed the heater matrix already) but when it comes to fuel I get a bit more worried.
Thank you all in advance for your help

The Lucas pumps aren't that bad; there's many with stellar mileage still going fine.
The shaft has worn; the repair kit is a new top cover and gasket from LSUK - around £50, depending on how much discount you can negotiate......
Easy to fit - six screws; just note where the fork sits as you drop the cover down.
