2001 1.9 DCi - Non Start - bromine
Hi, I got a Laguna 1.9 DCI estate on Y reg, it was stood for about 6 months and the battery went flat. I replaced the battery and the car does not start? It turns over fine but does not fire. I put in some more diesel but still no joy. Is there sort of glow plugs or spart plugs that can get damp in? Also with the key card how do you push start it?

Push starting a diesel is pretty much impossible - the high cylinder compressions will lock the wheels or stop the car near dead as soon as you let the clutch out.

Have you tried priming the fuel system?

You can indeed bump (push) start the Laguna . I just bumped started my Laguna 120bhp 1.9 dci last night with my mate towing me in his jeep!!!
Started the moment I lifted the clutch in second gear, card in ( ignition on) and also pressed the start button at the same time for good measure , although I'm not entirely sure I needed to push the start button. For information though, my battery wasn't completely dead it just never had the oomph to turn the engine over, even once.

Hope this helps

Being towed to start a car is entirely different to someone push starting a car though.
