I think DD is right - I don't think the system will be permanently confused by the 'wrong' chip. There are no master keys for Vauxhalls either. The system needs programming by the dealer with a TECH 2 to accept the chips in the keys and there are no tricks to get round this. To do this they need the 'Car Pass' with the ECU/immobiliser code. The dealer can get this (at a price - c£10) if you don't have it. If the car doesn't recognise what you believe is the 'correct' chip I agree with DD that it's probably damaged - or the wrong one! Some locksmiths can programme new keys so they are clones of the originals, but this isn't an option here as you've either lost or damaged the 'working' chip. Not sure many have access to the TECH 2 to programme a new key to the car.
