I have been informed that from Feb 15th all the speed cameras are being changed from the old film, which were set at 90mph, when not on variable to the updated Digital-at normal motorway speeds, it will also be set at +10% + 2 pmh even when on variable - so 40mph, will be 46ish, even when there is nothing causing a delay, it's just matey gone off for a cup of tea and forgot to change the signs
