1998 1.2 - Grundig 303c stereo not working - brillo
I removed my radio cassette(grundig 303c (D) model) from my 1998 1.2 merit 8 valve car to try to solve a continuous whining interference noise but when i put it back there was no life in it watsoever-completely dead. I have heard this happen to someone else while looking at another website.
Does anyone know what the problem might be and the solution please?
The code bit doesn't show any figures or safe mode.
Also are there any other brands eg philips, kenwood etc that will fit in the same apeture of this model?

Thanks

Have you checked the fuse on the back of the stereo hasn't blown?
Have you checked that the multiplug on the back of the stereo has connected properly to the multisocket in the cage?

The stereo is a standard DIN size and so is the wiring. 99% of other stereo makes will fit. If you fit an afternmarket make though, you will have to swap the red and yellow wires over (ie, red to yellow, and yellow to red) otherwise the presets in the stereo will be lost every time you remove the ignition keys. You'll probably also need an aerial plug adapter to connect the Vauxhall aerial plug to the replacement stereo.
