Auction valuation - Big Norm
I have decided to get rid of my Picasso. Its a 51 plate and has done 120,000 miles. It has a full Citroen service history (with additional oil changes, if that makes any difference). The Aircon doesn't work and there are faint handprints on the body - it's met Blue. The interior is free from damage or any visible wear. It's tax and Mot'd until Jan 2008. It's a 2.0 litre HDi.

Any idea how much it would make if put into an auction please.

Many thanks

If it's an LX model, about £1550.

Many thanks. I should have said in my post, it's an SX - does that increase it much ?

The SX books at around £100 more - but wether it makes a difference on the day is debatable.

Don't forget you will have to declare the "a/c not working" - and take the appropriate hit on the price, or risk the buyer knocking back the sale if he discovers it - the buyer has 1 hour during which he can do this if he finds a major (undeclared) fault.
Otherwisw you have to put the car in as seen (or with all faults), the car will also go in the general section (traders will regard this as riskier than vehicles "direct" from fleets and main dealers) and these 2 factors will probably result in lower bids.

You could use the BCA Suresell process which is specifically for private sellers but is more expensive than other houses where you pay an entry fee plus a % of the hammer price.

Thanks for the info. I'm looking at trading it in - I wanted a rough value at auction to see if the price they offered for mine was too ludicrous. Obviously, this needs to be off set against the reduction in the price of the car they are selling me. I used the What Car target price and the internet to try and get a guide as to an acceptable discount.
