No, you need the ignition turned on to change the time on those Ford clocks, don't ask why.

No; I always get asked this about 20 times at this time of year.
The usual reason people struggle, is that the clock adjust buttons won't work with the ignition off.
I've no idea what sort of clock you have, as you couldn't be bothered to tell me even the year.

Thanks for that, now sorted.
Sorry I didn't bother to give you all the info, thought they were all the same

You don't need the ignition on-just press the button on the clock!!!
|
It depends on the clock, on my fiesta the ignition does have to be on, on my dads escort (oval shape clock) the ignition also had to be on.
|
On both my Ka and my Escort,no ignition-just press the button-Escort has two-up & down-Ka has one-up only.
|
So you may need to turn the ignition on depending on model and specification.

the clock on my radio adjusted itself , must be a coded signal from the transmitter i bet ?
|
A signal is sent thro' RDS to set the clock; the radio usually needs to be on a RDS station for at least three minutes for it to correct. Most RDS radios have a time display function tho' you may need to read the instructions to get them to display it.
