Mini motos were consigned to the scrap yard this morning with hundreds of pounds worth reduced to a mangled wreck.
The six machines were scrapped at MK Auto Recycling, New Bradwell, to illustrate that police have the power to seize mini-motorbikes which have been illegally ridden around the city's redways, estates and parklands.

Shame. Cruelty to dumb machinery. I think they're cute little things.
The world's best pub stands beside a busy three-lane one-way a few hundred yards north of Camden Town. There's a hooligan with one of these things on a nearby housing estate. I've seen him twice doing wheelies diagonally the wrong way up the one-way on it, right there in the middle of London. Bit noisy but jolly sporting I always think.

And Dawrin's theory will soon be confirmed, to the dismay of the poor innocent sap that hits him.

He seems to do it at otherwise quiet moments PU. All the better to make a clamour. I haven't seen him doing anything dangerous or threatening to anyone else, but I don't live on his estate (shudder)...

I think the main problem is there's often nowhere local to ride these things legally. It's clearly not a bicycle so you can't take it to the park, and you'd soon run out of fun in the cut & thrust of traffic, that's if they even complied with the construction and use regulations.
While I was in foreign parts last week I saw a Pocket Rocket made by Razor. It's an electric kid's bike, does 15mph and looks much better than these 4mph jobs that Argos sell. No way would I buy my sprogs a minimoto that would annoy everyone and be illegal, but I'm tempted by one of these or the Razor MX350. Would these be legal to ride everywhere here, or at least everywhere a pedal cycle could be ridden? www.razorama.com/

I don't like the things - but thats mainly due to the plumes of smoke that they emit. If cars have to undergo emission testing, why not these wretched things?
Other than that they seem like a good way for kids to learn about the road, but as always kids will be kids - and that ensures we have problems.
