an independant radio shack that has been established a good few years with a good reputation is the way to go,why? because he will probably diagnose it in 5 secs pull the radio out and tell you the scenario
notice i said established not some front for ripping motorists off and then putting their goods in the window once they have tootled off radioless (i kid not, happened to me a few times till i discovered his little scam)
I can understand your sceptism but my problem was real.
I have since found out the problem and for other users who may have the same problem: If you put two thumbs at the base of the clock/radio display unit and push up the casing comes off. At the top of the display panel there is a lead going into it. Disconnect the lead and then reconnect it again and hopefully problem solved.
Thats what I did and my two week old problem got solved.
as i said a proper old school radio shack would have told you the problem and sorted it for you at no cost,if i had the answer to that one i wouldnt have charged you
i got 2 brownie points at work today for being philanphropic,it dont pay the bills but it make the world feel better through my eyes, and the feedback from customers in the bigger world always pays dividends
Small pin, many thanks for sharing that information. I've just had the same problem and checked all the fuses etc before turning to the web. Disconnected then reconnected the leads and I was sorted!!
