i have been using this forum for several years now and always find any questions/help i needed has been met with very helpful and friendly advice from fellow members.
just wanted to say thanks very much for the people running this forum for giving us this site in the first place.
without the site and all the info you get on here i would be going round in circles.
well done honest john for all your help and also to my fellow members.
THANKS AND HOPE TO SEE THIS FORUM RUNNING FOR MANY YEARS TO COME.

Here, here.

As well as answering the questions/offering advice, I also like the Back Room discussion element - people putting their own opinions forward for debate and discussion (and only occassionally descending into pointless personal snipes!).

I think its the discussion element that is allowed to go on, that makes it so interesting and gives it more of a community feel rather than a help board.
Of course, it can be guaranteed that TVM will disagree with nearly everyone, but that adds the humour element when you can predict peoples responses! The banter makes it a good read as a result.
Its alot better than a brand specific enthusiasts board where everyone agrees for the most part and compare notes on what style of window winders they prefer!

Agree with everything said here, long may it continue!
appreciation to honest john - Westpig
thoroughly agree with the comments so far.....I too enjoy the banter......and the fact you can generally learn something most times you log in.

I do admit though that a damned good spat is often most entertaining..... especially when someone does a really dramatic drama queen exit.
appreciation to honest john - oilrag
Exactly, and the same appreciation of the moderators too.

Big thumbs up to HJ and the Mods!
appreciation to honest john - Cliff Pope
Add my thanks too.
I have often thought HJ sometimes has to take flak from two sides - forum users who don't like the ads but don't appreciate the economic reasons, and then he has to be answerable for replies to his Saturday DT column too. If he only wanted to just get on with selling cars you might wonder why he bothers.
appreciation to honest john - Lud
It's a civilised place although I have been censored several times, once or twice justifiably... :o}

"forum users who don't like the ads"

I love them, but for some reason using Ubuntu as an operating system, with no flash, I dont seem to get them :(
appreciation to honest john - normd2
currently got 12 internet pages open - one's HJ, one's the news and the rest are credit card ads!!!! - where do you get Ubuntu from?

ps HJ's great

thanks HJ

i disagree. i thought that was my preogative, or was it cheddar's? come to think of it, remembering westpig's comment [ >> I do admit though that a damned good spat is often most entertaining..... especially when someone does a really dramatic drama queen exit. ] it has to be "robcars" and/or his other avatar as "yorkiebar".

agree though that this forum is very addictive. must get the authorities to reclassify it as the best cureall drug, including motoring ills.

Yes, good work HJ and the moderators.

You others do realise that the more you post in appreciative threads like this, the more chance of getting hold of the fabled edit button?

I was just hoping to avoid being flamed or expelled or put on a high-surveillance list...
Appreciation to Honest John - tyro
The site would be pretty good even without the Back Room. With the Back Room, it is simply amazing. Not much on the internet can touch it.
Appreciation to Honest John - Clk Sec
It's a pleasure to be on board. Well done HJ and Mods.

Agree entirely. The only problem is that it is sometimes too much of a diversion... :-)

or put on a high-surveillance list...

too late Lud....... special request from the surveillance team, could you refrain from hanging out those great big old fashioned 'Y' fronts, the team felt a bit nauseous.

Indispensable.

I agree. And welcome to the new mod.

Another one? Post-PU? Who? Or do you mean the great and good PU himself?

I agree with the sentiments expressed here. I have a craving to check the BR at least once a day, despite cries of "Get a life" around me, or words to that effect.

I'm still here, I think.

I find this site so helpful, and friendly. Many thanks to all that run it, and all that are on it.....Cheers, Graham.

Been a fan of HJ ever since I came across him in the DT and ther sound advice he gives.

........but do miss the ribald and peppery bits from Toad, MM, Fif, Bogush(?) and the idiot Lada. Spose its getting old when we get into cardican, pipe and rocking chair?

Appreciation to Honest John - El Hacko
agree, his DT column is little short of a national treasure (running how long now, HJ?) - wonder if any other title has attempted to poach such a star?

Hello.

I agree Honest John's Back Room is great.

Long may it continue.

Id like to add my appreciation to Honest John's website as well.

Id also like to add my appreciation to the Mods..especially Dynamic Dave.
The reason for this is because we had a small falling out a while back ..and a few choice things were said.
Since then,,,IMO he has answered theposts in a different manner(imo) and has been more,,,um "human"

Well what im trying to say is they have a hard job looking after everyone and all the different opinions..And it is hard not to be over hard on people that they may not like..So thx to all mods..but from me, most of all Dave

sometimes a little bit too much opinion....but its only because i care !!!
