ldv gearbox and peugeot diesel - James_dbrz
Am i correct in thinking the LDV pilot is rwd and uses a peugeot 1.9 diesel engine. Is this the same as in the 405, 406 etc? Leading on from this do the HDI engines now in the 406 use the same gearboxes as the old 1.9 i.e are the bellhousings the same? does this mean it would be possible to put a HDI engine in an LDV van (albeit alot of work)

Many LDV use Transit engine/g-box.

Pug 1.9 used in some of these old dinosaurs. Putting the HDI in would be a huge amount of work. Never worth the effort IMO.

or alternately to use the 1.9 tdi unit. what is the height of these compared to say a zetec
