Having solved the problem of my Mondy's inactive temp gauge with a new sender unit I still have a problem with the fuel guage which is showing as full to the brim all the time whether ignition is on or off. I have located the fuel sender unit which has a multiplug connection plus an uninsulated spade connector around the outside of the unit. I tried cleaning up the spade connector which was heavily corroded but still no joy. Any ideas?
Also the car is a 1996 Ghia model so I would imagine it would have had remote central locking rather than key operated c/locking. Is there any way of telling and if it has r/c/l is it a case of parting with ££££££ to Ford for a blip-key-thingy?
Thanks,
Stuart

Sometimes the float that works the solenoid on the sensor gets stuck. If you can't easily get into the tank where the sender is, you could - at your own risk of course - try driving very fast over some enormous bumps... might shake it loose, you never know.
NB: this is not serious advice. Still, if yoiur car never does anything but glide, try some potholes or speed bumps.
