Could someone please guide me as to how to bleed the brake fluid from my car. Are there any special tools that I need?
Never bleeded a system before, but I am ok with spanners.
Thanks in advance.

Bleeding brakes is a two man job, unless you buy a pressure bleeder kit and for your first time I'd recommend having someone who's done it before show you how, rather than by trial and error. I'm all for DIY but brakes are a safety critical component and if you're not exactly sure what you're doing seek tuition. The pressure bleeding kits are quite easy to use and the Gunstones one I have has quite clear instructions, but make sure you read the workshop manual for your vehicle to see if it's ok to use a pressure kit and don't overdo it with the pressure.

Don't bother with pumping the pedal etc - esp. not with an ABS setup. Use a Gunson's Eazibleed (pressure bleeder - about £20) or a vacuum bleeder. Personally I prefer vacuum bleeding - less chance of getting air in the system and less chance of a nasty 'spill' and brake fluid spraying over your engine compartment.
I have a MityVac - easy one-hand bleeding (no airline required) - but there are others from companies like Sealy.

Err, why not?

Does the Mityvac suck the fluid out through the bleed nipples on the wheels in the usual order, Aprilia, while one makes sure the reservoir stays topped up?
