I want to replace the coolant in my Polo (1996). The stuff that's in there at the moment is blue and the expansion tank says it is G10.
I got a new bottle of coolant from my local VW agent and the stuff they gave me is pink and is labelled as G12. They don't sell the G10 stuff any more.
Question - do I need to flush out the coolant system thoroughly before refilling and if so what is the recommended procedure?

VW did G12 and G12+. G12 should not be mixed with the older G10 coolant. The G12+ is designed to be able to mix with the older coolant.
The G12 bottle is cylindrical, and the newer G12 Plus is a rectangular bottle.
