Howdo all,
I do not have a service schedule for my 2002 Pug 406 HDi, only a service print out. There is no mention anywhere of the gearbox oil being changed during its 119,000 miles.
Question is - does anyone know the interval for the change, if there is one at all?
Thanks,
DB

I have the same engine & box in my 52 reg Citroen, and for 2002 models onwards they don't even bother to check the gearbox oil level anymore during the service, never mind change it at any point.

PS assume you mean the manual gearbox? For the auto its scheduled to be changed every 25k, but theres no scheduled change for the manual.

Yep, it's a manual.
Thanks for the reply.

On my old XUD engined Xantia (no change interval on that either) I did actually change the gearbox oil at around 120k. The old oil I drained out was just as clean as the new that went in and no there were no bits stuck to the magnetic drain plug, so it was possibly a waste of time. Peace of mind though perhaps?!

Similar experience on my old XUD xantia - changed it somewhere around 150k but didn't notice any difference between old and new. No change interval seems to be specified for my current 406 HDi...
