My 2002 Pug 406 is making a intermittent squeeling/squeeking from the osf wheel. The sound goes away briefly when washed, which leads me to think it may be something to do with brake dust - but something is niggling telling me I'm wrong.
It has steel wheels with trims - are they more susceptible to collection of dust?
Cheers,

Does the sound go away when you press the brake pedal? It could be brake pad squeak, disassemble and reassemble using antisqueak on the rear of the pads, and coppergrease on just about all other parts eg spring clips & pins - obviously not on the face of the pad or discs!

Indeed it does go away when the brake pedal is pressed. It's actually going in for new pads and discs on the front tomorrow - so hopefully that should sort it out!

Ask them to use antisqueak on the pad rears.
