Cost of Oil and filter change. - Paul C
I am sending my old style 2000X Corsa 1.2 16v SXi in for a 6 month oil and filter change (it does a low mileage) and I am wondering how much should I expect to be charged at local Vauxhall dealer (3 yr warranty not yet expired). Also what oil should go in this engine?

Thanks

Paul C

At the risk of sounding facetious, why don't you phone him and ask?

Then phone one of those Kwik-Fit/ Formula One/Halfords type of places and wonder why they are half the price?

Paul,

At a rough guess......

Vauxhall own semi-syn 10/40 - £12
Filter - £5
30mins labour - £22

£40 possibly??

Re: Vauxhall Corsa - Paul
My Astra was about £90, but for a FULL service at a Vauxhall dealer.

David

Pretty well spot on - provided you buy the oil yourself and hand it over. Some dealers charge a higher 'per litre' rate if you're not careful. As for labour - how about a 'private arrangement' for a 'lunchhour job?

On 4 year old cars, my local Vauxhall dealer would do a full service, inc. plugs and all filters for £99-99 and that included the MOT. Pretty good I thought.

Re: Vauxhall Corsa - Brill
Audi dealer quoted me £70 for oil and filter on a 2.6 V6, so probably not far out.
