I have a astra mk3 s reg 1.6 8 valve , lost all coolant out of exspansion tank and heat .on topping up and running the car I noticed alot of pressure building up in the tank.I also took off the oil filler cap here i noticed mayonase on the cap and alot of whiteish smoke coming out of the opening.The oil on the dipstick shows no sign of water just seems on the oil filler cap also when you put your hand over the oil inlet in the rocker cover you seem to feel as though it as a vaccum suction.the engine seems to run ok , but I think the head gasket maybe on its way out.
I would be grateful for any comments or suggestions regarding this problem on my car...... Nigel

Yep sounds like HGF, get a garage to sniff round the header tank for exhaust gases.
